The Social Services Administration operates under the principle that all people we meet have the same value and are unique. Within the administration, there are IFO, LSS operations, social psychiatry, health care, home care, and special accommodations. Approximately 800 employees work around the clock for our target groups.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to be a key player in creating a safer future for children and youth in Avesta? Do you have a drive to make a real difference? Then this position might be for you! We are now introducing two new positions in the Children and Youth unit; social workers specializing in working with children and adolescents who have developed or are at risk of developing norm-breaking behavior.

In this significant role, you will work both investigatively and follow-up with youth who are at risk. You will collaborate with the police, schools, open care, field assistants, and other important actors to find sustainable solutions. Your base will be in the children and youth unit alongside other social workers, but you will also work in interdisciplinary teams.

A day in this role is varied and eventful. You may be out in the field meeting youth and building trust, holding collaborative meetings with schools and police, or working on risk and safety assessments to ensure that the right support is provided in time. You will work both strategically and closely with the youth, always focusing on strengthening their opportunities and preventing crime and social exclusion. At the same time, you will be an important part of developing our working methods and shaping the future of social services in Avesta. The role includes disseminating knowledge and leading in various collaboration forums, both about the target group and about the social services' work in general.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with youth and has experience in engaging with young people in difficult life situations. You are flexible, solution-focused, and have an easy time building relationships. Furthermore, you have a good ability to collaborate with various actors and can work and lead independently as well as in a team. You bring ideas and initiate activities based on emerging needs. You also instill great trust in others, are calm, stable in stressful situations, and have the ability to stay motivated and effective despite setbacks. As the position may involve adjustments in your day based on incoming reports and safety assessments, it is particularly important that you are flexible and have the ability to adapt to new tasks.

The position is primarily during daytime hours, but evening work occurs regularly.

As we are building this work from the ground up, we welcome your experience, creativity, and commitment to developing our methods and working practices.

Applicants should have a degree in social work or meet the eligibility requirement with another relevant education of at least 180 higher education credits, including courses in social law, administrative law, psychology, and social work. The level of difficulty in social work studies should also have been progressively increased. Experience in handling social care for children and youth is a requirement.

Documentation and communication are a significant part of our work, and therefore, you need to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish. Training in BBIC, Signs of Safety, and assessment methods ESTER or Savry is an advantage.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Since you will be working with children and youth, you must provide a criminal record extract if you are considered for the position.
